White paper writing

White papers for firms whose buyers must justify the decision to others

Above $50,000, a decision passes through many people, and each of them checks the facts. A white paper gives your expert's case to every one of them.

Why high-stake sales need a paper

When a purchase is worth $50,000 or more, the decision goes through several steps: the person you met, their manager, finance, sometimes legal and the board. The more people are involved, the more they research, compare and check details on their own, often when you are not in the room.

That is the logical, fact-finding part of the decision. It is won with material your champion can forward: a document that states the problem, shows the evidence and answers the objections each reader will raise. A white paper does that job.

Enterprise-level sales material, for firms without an enterprise sales team

Large companies sell consultatively with whole teams: product marketing, analysts, proposal writers. A small or mid-sized firm sells the same way, through advice and trust, but usually with a few real experts who also deliver the work. They rarely have the time, or the budget for a team, to produce that material.

I make that material available to them. I interview your experts, write the paper from their reasoning and get it approved, so a few hours of their time turn into a document that keeps making their case in every meeting they cannot attend.

Two jobs a white paper does

Support for complex sales

For deals of $50,000 and up, the paper answers the questions your buyer's colleagues will ask after the meeting.

A lead magnet on your website

Prospects trade their email for a document worth keeping, so you know who is researching the problem you solve.

How I build one

  1. The reader first. Who signs, who blocks, what they fear, what language earns their trust.
  2. Evidence before prose. Rules, court decisions, official statistics and your own data, each named in the text.
  3. A structure a busy reader can scan. Summary, tables, worked examples, a clear position.
  4. Your experts review it. Nothing is published until the people who own the knowledge sign off.

What I have written

For five years I led the editorial programme of a fintech platform for Italian accountants, CFOs and SME owners: regulatory guides, court-case analyses and decision frameworks, in Italian and English.

  • A legal analysis of directors' monitoring duties under Art. 2086 of the Italian Civil Code: four court rulings, eight tables, a 13-item bibliography.
  • A decision framework for SMEs, with its own formulas and stress test.
  • A guide to the five financial KPIs investors check before a deal.

One paper, several formats

A white paper can also become a web page, a LinkedIn document, and shorter articles and avatar videos written from it, so the same research reaches readers who will never open a PDF.

Scope your white paper

Tell me which question your buyers' colleagues keep asking after the meeting. That is usually the paper.
